Founded in 2000, this unique sculpture park, home to the most comprehensive, eclectic selection of Zimbabwean stone sculpture in Canada. It’s a must-see destination for art lovers of all ages just outside of Toronto. ZimArt's Rice Lake Gallery represents over 50 Zimbabwean stone sculptors. Their work is on display in a beautiful natural oasis overlooking Rice Lake and the Northumberland Hills. Sizes range from table top to monumental. - Gallery visitors can stroll around the gallery on self-guided tours, drink an espresso under a safari tent, picnic under a tree or a tent, birdwatch or count frogs in the pond, read up on background material about this art movement and even meet one of the artists. During much of the summer season the artist-in-residence, visiting from Zimbabwe, is on site teaching workshops or talking and demonstrating to gallery visitors. Canada's Shona Sculpture Gallery is open each day from June 1 to Thanksgiving.
